What Is a Mezzanine Loft Ladder?

In this FAQ, we explain what a mezzanine ladder is, and how we can help you find the best ladder for this application:

What Is a Mezzanine Floor?

A mezzanine is an intermediate space between the floor and the ceiling that often only partly covers an area, and a mezzanine loft ladder is used to access a mezzanine floor within the home, as opposed to a ladder you would use for access to your loft space.

Mezzanine floors are often used in flats, homes and warehouses where space is very limited. For accessing mezzanine floors in the home, it’s important to have a ladder that is compact but also sturdy, as it will be used quite regularly to access a small bedroom area or storage space.

How Can Loft Centre Help?

Loft Centre offers a range of mezzanine loft ladders to use in your home, made in a range of different materials and styles. For example, we stock the Dolle Alufix Vertical Concertina Loft Ladder, which has been adapted from the standard Alufix style so that it is suited to accessing vertical spaces or mezzanine levels. This is an economic model that doesn’t skimp on safety or usability, and will give you a fantastic permanent access solution that won’t take up too much room in the home.

We also stock the Loft Centre Mini Aluminium Sliding Vertical Carriage Ladder, which is a versatile, lightweight, but extremely reliable ladder made from extruded aluminium alloy. This ladder is supplied with one handrail as standard, but can be supplied with an additional handrail if this is something you’d like. You can also add a metal exit handrail, ensuring a safe exit from your ladder.
