Eye Catching Loft Remodels

If the New Year has got you thinking about making some changes around the home, particularly when it comes to adding more living space, you may want to consider remodelling that dusty old attic into something far more comfortable.

Now is the best time to start implementing those plans you've always dreamed of, whether it is an extra bedroom, bathroom, or custom hideaway. So to get things going, here are just a few of our favourite loft conversions to have caught our eye at the beginning of 2014:

minimalbed

An all-white colour scheme of this bedroom makes the room appear a lot bigger than it actually is and helps the lower parts of the ceiling seem taller. It's a perfect example of how a clever use of colour can accentuate space, where there was little space to begin with. This works even better with a minimalist décor, as displayed here with the minimal use of furniture, and bare, unfinished floors.

Here's an excellent example of how to embrace those angled walls and ceilings, in a way that makes for a more characteristic living space. This cosy retreat exploits every nook with the careful use of lighting, contrasting colours (darker at the bottom) and carpet instead of wooden floors. It's a very clever mix of classic and contemporary that wouldn't look out of place in any home. They've even rounded things off nicely with an elegant looking staircase that suits the entire arrangement.

shower

We've all dreamed of having a beautiful second bathroom, and the owners who dreamed up this little beauty must be pretty pleased with the results. In fact, it's one of the most impressive we've seen; an innovative use of space that has been carefully thought out from the beginning. The shower cubicle in particular makes the entire assemble look clean, modern, and above all else, a luxurious addition to any home.
