Komoda Technical Information
The Komoda is composed of 12 treads with 13 risers and features a railing to one side. The Komoda has an adjustable height between 2250mm and 3030mm. It is able to reach a maximum height of 3730mm with the use of additional Tread kits (illustrated in the diagram below ).
The treads are available in 2 sizes either the Komoda 74 (740mm wide) or the Komoda 89 (890mm wide). The depth of these treads can also be altered to give you a choice of going. The Komoda 74 has changeable tread goings from 180mm to 220mm and the Komoda 89's tread goings are from 220mm to 260mm.
The Komoda kit also has the choice of 2 configurations either the L-shaped with a 90 degree turn or the U-shaped with a 180 degree turn (illustrated below). As the Komoda is adjustable in rise, going and rotation it allows for many different layouts suitable to your application. (See Komoda Layouts link above )
We can supply an additional Railing kit if needed to protect the second side of the stair when it is far from the wall. This kit consists of 4 balusters, handrail, cables and fixings, when applied it will add a further 40mm on to the stair width.
In Diagram 1 (featured below) it shows a typical layout for the Komoda stair. The balusters are represented by the numbers and dots. To calculate the number of Railing Kits required to cover the left-hand side of the stair we need to add up the quantity of the balusters: 1 + 1 + 2 = 4 and therefore 1 Railing Kits (4 balusters per kit) will be required for this design.
We can also provide a Balustrade kit which can be used on the upper floor level to protect the aperture. It comes in a 1200mm length comprising of 10 balusters, handrails, cables and fixings.
